Hello!

I was in both Troop 37 Cub Scouts held at Coral Way Elementary and Troop 520 Boy Scouts held at the Lutheran Church on South Miami Avenue here in Miami. I would love to contact some old friends I served with. I did manage to stay friends with a few. Unfortunately, one friend in particular Robert Engle past away last year. I remember my scouting days well and would like my son to join scouting like I did. It provided me with a sense of discipline and guidance that was second to none. Scouting in general has received a black eye in recent years due to some bad publicity and random negative events. I would like to think that in today's society we can still raise our children to be respectful contributors to our society. Anyway, enough ramblings on! One of Cub Pack 37 den mother's was Mrs. Santana who held our meetings at her house along with her son Manuel Santana. Troop 520 had the Parra brothers and Mr. Woods who was a god fearing man who inspired us all. Other friends from troop 37 include, John Benitez, Esver & Edgar Camacho who now run a bakery on 32nd Ave and Coral Way, Gerald St. Pierre who is now a car sales man up in Port St. Lucie, Juan Vergara, Jimmy & Mike Puller who are not listed but did attend scouting in both troops and are now respected charter boat captains here in Miami on Key Biscayne (Lisa L. Charters). If I remember correctly Troop 520 had a yacht called the Adventurer I in which we would run down to the Keys and earn our swimming badges and learn basic navigation. I enjoyed those trips immensely. Also, our camping trips to Camp Seminole and trips to the Smokey Mountains and Gatlinburg for white water rafting. Well, if anyone remembers these events in our lives and would like to share some stories with me, feel free to e-mail me at the e-mail I provided. A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, brave, clean and reverent.

I will never forget!
