Although my stay with Ship 537 was shorter than yours and others, nonetheless it was a special time in my life that I will forever cherish. I am very thankful that Dave is enjoying these present moments.

I was in Miami this weekend to celebrate my Dad's 93rd. He lives at East Ridge retirement village in Cutler Bay. I know we have alot in common that we are not yet aware of. For example, I live in Sandy Springs, GA, not that far from PQ.

I have explored the 537 website enough to have found two photos of me. For one, I was in the lineup at Miami Beach Auditorium when Dick Nixon shook our hands. Secondly, there is a photo of me at a table with Delia Potts at a Sea Scout party. Delia was a neighborhood friend that also went to Gables High. I lived on Swanson Avenue in the Grove. Delia lived on Abaco. We are the couple at the table. Delia has a cigarette I believe. That particular photo was taken when I was a freshman at Georgia Tech and had returned to Miami for a holiday break.

I majored in Chemical Engineering at Tech. Worked for DuPont as a co-op student in Aiken, SC, then after graduation, worked for DuPont at Sabine River Works, Orange TX, Louviers Engineering Center in Wilmington, DE, and then Cape Fear Plant in Wilmington NC.

Went back to school to get a Masters in Environmental Engineering at University of Florida. Worked for Water and Air Research while at UF. After UF, worked for DeKalb County Water and Sewer Dept in Atlanta, GA. Mainly just to get back to Atlanta.

After three years at DK, ran out of money so took a job with Lockwood Greene Engineers in Atlanta. First assignment was Iran in 1977, just before the Revolution. Travelled all over the world after that. Six years ago, Lockwood Greene's parent company filed for bankruptcy, through no fault of ours and its a long story, but the good news is that we were purchased by CH2M HILL, a great employee owned company, and I am still working for them. I am known as "the water doctor". I guess because I am called on to solve problems that have to do with industrial water management and treatment systems. I am now working part time with good medical and other benefits as a part of the package. I work a minimum of 20 hours per week and live only 0.6 miles from the office. I have a wife Freddie, three children, and three grandchildren, all of whom live in this area.

Anyway, there is alot more, but I am anxious to hear from you all and others.

Thanks so much and I look forward to hearing from you all, and look forward to hearing from Dave.
